Major Advice Needed
This is my first online game ever, and although I've got the basics, but I'm at a point where I'm lost now. For one, is there a refernce for terminoligy that I can look up and two, is there a manual made for players by players. Any advice on anything related to the game would be helpful.
BTW my char. is a lv.9 Warrior/Elementalist which I concentrate on fire magic This would be a good area if you wanna write and show off how much you know Thanks! |

This is your new bible - http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Main_Page
Some useful parts for you http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Pre-Searing_guide http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Effective_warrior_guide http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Category:Glossary http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Common_scams http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Emotes By the way, a W/E isn't usually the best choice of professions, mostly used for conjure gimmicky builds, but you can change later in the game, or re-roll (delete and remake your character), if it doesn't work out for you. |

Yea, if you're W/E don't concentrate on fire magic, you're gonna have alot of people get pissed at you...
You should instead grab tanking skills (via. guild wiki, link in post above) and use elementalist skills to help "buff"(strenghten) your normal skills. Such as: [skill]conjure flame[/skill] another "classic" combination is the hamstorm Warrior (not sure how effective this is anymore): [skill]Hamstring[/skill] to cripple and... [skill]fire storm[/skill] to bring em down, kinda funny. For terminology, there is a wikipedia guide: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MMORPG_terms_and_acronyms (that took FOREVER to find... bookmarked) For a guide for player by player, that'd be guildwiki. Link is in above post. Dancing is /dance A good chunk of the emotes should have come with your game Hope this helps.. Last edited by I Might Avenge U; Jun 11, 2007 at 12:03 AM // 00:03.. |

Welcome to GuildWars
As said: A warrior is not good for fire magic. While it may work great in the beginning, it will get diffucult later, because warriors do not have enough energy for the fire magic spells. If you want to play as warrior, you can best go for melee combat, where the warrior is made for. If you want to use fire magic, you should create a new Elementalist character. Also, when you are new to trading, watch out for scam: http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Common_scams |

Basically, dont spend too much points in your secondary proffesion, unless it is really good synergy with your skills.
Fire Magic is no such. If you want to do fire magic damage, play full elementalist, they have a much larger energy pool, double energy regen and can make the skill more powerfull then secondary elementalists, since they can wear headpiece + runes with fire magic boost. I still dont understand how ppl that want to tank can ever take skills like Firestorm with them, it is the bane of true tanks. The purpose for tank people is to stay on one spot and absorb a lot of damage that would normally go to the softer teammembers. Also a good tank can 'herd' foes into compact groups, so that the nukers/or area damage dealers can kill it. Preferably with skills other then Firestorm, since that makes foes scatter. Warriors can basically become two sub-classes (ignore axe/sword/hammer distribution), which are tank and ganker. The warrior has the advantage in the game of having the highest armor, so you can easily tank. And with many points put in Strength and Tactics, your tank skills will increase. Tanking can be boring though, and often you do not see how usefull you actually are being to the rest of the team by doing so. You could also gank behind enemy lines, though a assasin will do a lot more damage then you. On the other hand, you can go behind their lines easily because of that high armor rating of yours. Just be carefull not to piss off your monks, since they are the ones that have to run after you to heal you, which is REALLY annoyin if you play monk. Don't make the mistake that all young warriors make and try to gank foes too far from your monks bubble (the inner circle on the compass around ur character). 1.5x the bubble radius is max u should be away from your monks. Tanks should be at exactly or just outside the radius of all teammembers, so the attention will stay at you. |

earth or water magic may be a better attribute to use, they can help you out by increasing your defence and adding conditions or knockdowns to your opponent.

Firestorm is a scatter nightmare. I started my first character as a W/E.
It didn't take long to realise you don't have the energy to cast a lot of spells. In the end I ran Conjure builds til I ascended. |
